The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program offers instruction on providing basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Students build the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patients with a wide range of care and transportation. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found in an ambulance. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is a critical link from the scene to the emergency health care system.
Students must meet the following requirements:
Adult students must have a high school diploma or equivalent
High School students must be 18
State of Utah EMT licensure (for both High School and Adult students)
Students must submit the required documentation:

State of Utah EMT license
License number is required and must be in good standing, and will be verified through the BEMSP
Current CPR certification. CPR certification must meet the requirements set forth by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness and must not expire before the end of the program. Acceptable CPR courses are:
American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (preferred)
CPR certification must meet the requirements set forth by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness and must not expire before the end of the program. All courses must have an in-person skills evaluation completed by an instructor. Online courses will not be accepted. You can see a list of accepted courses here.

National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - AEMT Certification
Following the completion of this Davis Tech program and after being admitted to the partner institution, your Davis Tech certificate of completion will be converted to as many as 30 credit hours toward an Associate of Applied Science at any Utah colleges and universities.
