Program Description
The Commercial Driver’s License Class A (CDL) program prepares students with the skills and knowledge they need to join the professional driving industry. This course fulfills Entry Level Driver Training requirements for CDL training in accordance with Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations.
Admission Requirements

This program is open to qualified adult students. New applicants will need the following items to complete this application. Cost/Fee information for these items can be found on the Driver's License Division's (DLD) website. Contact Tricia Cheney (801-593-2008) with any questions.

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Class A Learner's Permit
  • Valid DOT Physical Exam Card
  • CDL MVR Report

NOTE: If you are NOT sponsored by an employer that already has a regulated program then you will also need to submit the following items. Service costs will vary by service provider:

  • DOT Drug Screen
  • Statewide Background Check
