The Davis Technical College High School Senior Award is a program intended to encourage students who have started a Davis Tech certificate program while in high school to continue in their program after their high school graduation. Funding for the award will use a combination of federal (Pell), state, and institutional funds and not every student that applies will receive a scholarship if their federal funding is sufficient to cover the entire cost of their program.
How do I Qualify?
- Students need to continue in a certificate program that they were already attending as a high school student.
- Only good for 1 certificate program, even if a student was enrolled in multiple programs as a high school student.
- Students will have to choose which program they want to continue for their award.
- Students who are eligible for Pell grant, but do not want to use Pell grant funding at Davis Tech can only receive funding to cover 75% of their tuition and not guaranteed 100%.

- Students who do not meet the minimum academic progress requirements for their program may not be eligible for any financial aid.
What Does the Award Cover?
- The award pays all tuition and fees through June 30, 2027, or to finish a program, whichever is shorter, for any student who graduates from high school in the 2025-2026 school year.
- The award pays for the 1st attempt of each class, which means repeated classes will not be covered.

How do I apply, and is there a deadline?
- To apply, students must complete the 2026-2027 FAFSA.
- The application process consists of completing the 2026-2027 FAFSA, that’s it!
- Students who are ineligible to complete the FAFSA must do the scholarship application and provide income documentation for themselves and their parents.

- Deadline is MARCH 30, 2026: students must complete and submit the 2026-2027 FAFSA by March 30, 2026, to be eligible for this award.
- Must add Davis Tech as school of interest to FAFSA – Federal School ID 015195
- Students who do not apply by the deadline will be processed under normal scholarship processing policy and are not guaranteed to receive award that covers 100% of tuition and fees.

- Students who are eligible for Pell grant must set up their financial aid portal before they can access funds, which requires a copy of HS diploma upon graduation.
- Students whose Pell grant can cover the entire cost of the program may not receive a scholarship.

Can I Take Time Off After High School Graduation?
- Students must begin attendance as an adultstudent within 30 days of their high school enrollment ending or high school graduation date.
- Students enrolled in lock step programs must begin attending the first opportunity that is available to them based on their program’s schedule.
- For example, apprenticeship programs (Plumbing and Electrical) would be eligible for scholarships in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, but must enroll in the Fall 2026 class
- Students enrolled in a class that overlaps their high school graduation must begin next class as an adult within 30 days of class ending.
- If the last class as high school student ended prior to high school graduation date, enrollment as an adult student must begin within 30 days of high school graduation date.
- Students enrolled in lock step programs must begin attending the first opportunity that is available to them based on their program’s schedule.
- Students who take off more time than allowed would receive an award based on the normal scholarship processing policy and may not receive an award that covers 100% of tuition and fees.
Can I Defer my Scholarship?
- Students can request to defer their scholarship award if they are serving in the military, a religious mission or other humanitarian service opportunities (Peace Corps).
- Students must notify the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid of their intent to defer their scholarship for one of the acceptable reasons.
- Students will be asked to submit a Scholarship Deferral Form along with documentation of their reason for requesting the deferral.
