What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a structured program that combines on-the-job training with related classroom instruction towards a career as an Electrician. It offers a pathway to gain practical experience, earn wages, and work to become a licensed Journeyman electrician.

In order to join an apprenticeship program, you must:

  1. ...be employed as an electrician. This may sound a little intimidating, but it is the nature of this industry, and your employer will know this. Find a hiring Electrician, let them know you are interested in beginning your apprenticeship with Davis Tech. A standard interview will likely follow, and if accepted...
  2. ...get licensed with DOPL Your new employer will be able to help you get started with this.

Next, get registered as a new student at Davis Tech. In order to take the Journeyman's Exam, you need to show 8,000 hours of field work, and 4 years of school completed.
