Testing Day Requirements and Expectations

  • Hours
    • Testing is conducted on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Special arrangements can be made for testing of a group of employees or for those requiring special scheduling accommodations. This is dependent on the availability of the faculty and welding resources as the testing facility also provides training to welders in a Welding Technology program.
    • Tests must be started and completed within the same test day. Test candidates should arrive precisely at 8:00 a.m. to ensure they have ample time to complete their test.
  • Safety and Registration
    • Upon arrival at the Testing Facility, testing candidates will undergo an orientation where we will go over the registration process and safety expectations. Davis Tech is responsible for safety and health at the test facility. Prior to testing, the Qualifier will explain test facility safety practices and expectations. Test candidates will be asked to sign a Candidate Testing and Safety Agreement; they are also expected to comply with American Welding Society Safety in Welding, Cutting, and Allied Processes (ANSI Z49.1:2005), in addition to Davis Tech safety expectations.
    • Failure to comply with safety expectations will result in an immediate termination of the test and no refund will be given.
  • What To Bring
    • Test Candidates will need to provide the following items. Failure to do so may result in delays in the testing process.
      • Driver’s license or state issued identification card.
