Introduction to Digital Marketing explores how Web and Graphic Design is utilized in the real world. From product marketing and political campaigns to education and entertainment, students will experience how storytelling through digital marketing empowers all effective online communication. Upon completing this course, students will have evaluated and elevated their online presence by creating professional emails, cover letters, resumes, portfolios, and social media accounts.

Students in this course will learn Adobe Photoshop CC. Students will learn the fundamental features of Photoshop for image editing and graphic design. Students will also learn more advanced skills such as enhancing and repairing photos, applying filters and patterns, creating color channels and actions, working with tools for web and 3D modeling.

Vector Graphics with Adobe Illustrator CC introduces the industry-standard computer illustration application Adobe Illustrator CC. During this course, you will explore how to use this application to achieve professional-quality results for your vector graphic and print collateral projects.

This course introduces students to the field of user experience and its importance for consumers and businesses. Students will explore the basics and the foundational UX design concepts like user-centered design and the design process. Students will learn how to conduct the UX design research and how to analyze the findings. Students will gain the UX design skills of creating customer journey maps and paper prototypes, building and presenting case study for UX portfolio with the tools such as Miro, InVision, Figma and Adobe XD.

This course provides fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the dynamic domains of digital marketing and e-commerce. You will explore various job roles and opportunities in digital marketing and e-commerce concepts. Topics covered include understanding customer journey maps and marketing funnels to effectively target and convert audiences into loyal customers. Additionally, you will learn how to formulate digital marketing strategies and leverage digital channels for brand-building, relationship-building, and sales generation. Finally, the course will cover methods for measuring and interpreting performance data to enhance campaign effectiveness, enabling participants to plan future digital marketing or e-commerce career opportunities.

In this course, you will be introduced to the foundational coding languages of HTML and CSS. You will learn how the internet functions through code and gain an understanding of the basic syntax and structure of these essential languages. Additionally, you will be introduced to Visual Studio Code, a powerful software tool used for coding. By the end of this course, you will be able to create and display content on a webpage using code, providing a solid foundation for further study in web development.

Students will use the latest HTML/CSS techniques to create custom Mobile-First Responsive Websites that will automatically scale and adjust its content and layout to fit any screen size (from a smart phone to a billboard).

Students in this course will learn to utilize the basics of PHP to create a maintainable website structure.  Additionally, advanced CSS techniques will be explored to add interactivity and advanced functionality to a website.

Students in this course will study the principles and processes of graphic design. Students will practice how to generate design concepts, apply the principles of design to the graphic design formats and disciplines, and use the design elements to create and design for print and screen media. The goal of this course is to build a solid foundation for better graphic design and communication.

Students in this course will develop skills using Adobe Premiere Pro CC to capture and edit audio and video, add and manipulate transitions and effects, and export in a variety of different formats for online (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and offline (Blu-Ray, DVD, etc.) presentation.

Students in this course will develop skills using Adobe After Effects CC for digital post-production of film, video, DVD, and web. Students will practice using 2D and 3D tools to create compositing, animation, and effects as motion-graphics professionals, visual effects artists, web designers, and film and video professionals.

Students will delve into the intricacies of major social media platforms, learning to leverage them for effective strategic marketing campaigns. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students will gain proficiency in audience analysis, content creation, and campaign optimization. Practical exercises and real-world case studies will empower students to develop a strategic social media marketing plan, ensuring they are well-prepared for the industry's evolving demands.

Designing for the Real World explores what it is like to work in the customer-focused design industry. Throughout this course, you will develop brand identities (from concept to production) for clients in the fashion, tech, and/or restaurant industries. You will experience what it is like to work with real customers and practice responding to many of the most common customer requests. Upon completion of this course, you will have two case studies to add to your portfolio along with an intricate understanding of the difficulties that are involved in designing for real world clients.

Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and practical applications of branding in the context of graphic design and marketing. Participants will delve into the anatomy of successful brands through case studies, explore research methodologies, conduct brand analysis, and ultimately apply their knowledge to create and design their unique brand.

This course reviews the principles and applications of color theory in the context of digital design. Students will gain a deep understanding of color terminology, models, harmony, psychology, and their relevance to contemporary design practices. This course equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for effective design work by exploring the intersection of color with current trends and technologies in the digital design world. By the end of the course, students will emerge with a solid foundation in color theory and the ability to apply this knowledge in digital design contexts effectively.

Digital Content Creation explores topics that provide students with experience in AR, 3D, and asset creation to be used in various Adobe software. Students will learn to create and import brushes, materials, shapes, and colors using their phones or other mobile devices. Students will have opportunities to develop AR experiences, 3D models, and other content to enhance their engagement with their work.

This introductory course provides a strong foundation in JavaScript, the scripting language that powers dynamic content on the web. Students will learn how to interact with the Document Object Model (DOM), manipulate elements, and work with various data types such as strings, numbers, booleans, null, and undefined. The course covers essential concepts including variables, arithmetic operators, conditional statements, and event handling. Through practical exercises, students will explore connecting JavaScript to HTML files, implementing functions, understanding variable scope, and leveraging arrays and loops to create dynamic web applications.

This course delves into advanced JavaScript techniques and features to enhance students' skills in creating sophisticated web applications. It covers modern JavaScript concepts, including higher-order functions, callbacks, closures, and ES6 syntax improvements like arrow functions and rest/spread operators. Students will explore advanced topics such as ES6 classes, object-oriented programming principles, asynchronous programming with promises and async/await, and interaction with APIs through the Fetch API. The course introduces students to advanced DOM manipulation techniques, event delegation, and debugging methods. By the end, students will proficiently use modern JavaScript tools and methodologies to build efficient and dynamic web applications.

Advanced JavaScript Frameworks introduces the most popular JavaScript libraries that are used in Front-End Web Development. During this course, you will explore the capabilities of these frameworks and learn how to install, configure, and implement their most common design patterns. Upon completion of this course, you will be prepared to create dynamic web applications full of advanced functionality.

Students in this course will learn to use Adobe CC InDesign to produce professional-quality, full-color documents and print them using a variety of output devices. Students will also learn to design publications for a broad range of electronic devices, such as tablet, smart-phones, and e-readers, and export InDesign documents in key format, including PDF, HTML, and EPUB.

Typography introduces the history and principles of using type and words as design elements. Throughout this course, you will study the history of letter forms and fonts as well as various techniques for printing documents.

This course introduces students to the human-first approach design process that aims for creating the optimal delightful user experiences of a product. Students will learn how to create the user interfaces of a product with a focus on look, style, and interactivity. Through hands-on activities, students will explore what goes into the user interface design: aesthetics, usability, and accessibility. Students will use industry-standard tools to design and prototype User Interfaces (UI) that are intuitive and easy to use. Upon course completion, students will have two portfolio projects, one with full case study and one with case study summary.

The Web and Graphic Design externship experience helps you transition from a student into a professional role by allowing you to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes learned in the program while working in a professional setting. This experience takes place under the supervision of a supervisor in a related field and includes skill practice and evaluation. An instructor will periodically visit the externship site to evaluate your progress and performance.

Students in this course are guided in putting together an electronic version of their portfolio. The assignments are designed to give students additional material for their website portfolios. When finished, students will create a complete marketing package to display their work on the web. Students will also gain knowledge and skills for networking and success.
